HINTERLAND

Hayden Welch is a Rochester-native artist working in both the visual and musical fields. She graduated from Nazareth College with a degree in Studio Arts after completing a study-abroad fellowship at the Santa Reparata International School in Florence, Italy.  While her creative interests remain broad, she started focusing on tattooing in 2012, seeking a link between body liberation and her love of illustration.

 

Hayden’s work is centered around her fascination with the natural world, which she explores through illustrative botanicals, kaleidoscopic/symmetry art play, dot work, fine line precision, and whimsical folk art.  She lives in downtown Rochester with a bearded poet-professor and their cat, Figgs.
