Welcome Home

is a photography and multimedia show created by Cara Wood Harris and the Hinterland team, paired with an interactive Art House experience curated by Art Director Hayden Welch.

The show invites visitors to become embodied in place and space, with an emphasis on nature and a museum-in-your-living-room feel. As a self-taught photographer, getting behind a camera began as a way for Cara to feel more comfortable in the world and became a passion for capturing color, light, and the history of the earth. Her love for the natural world comes through in the way photos capture not what a place looks like but, hopefully, an echo of how it feels to be present there.

Throughout the Spring-Summer season, Hinterland will feature open gallery hours with interactive creation and imagination stations, meet-the-artist events with gallery talks and tours, and a host of associated 'field trips' out into the local Rochester community.

Events & Gallery Hours

Visit during open gallery hours to view the photography collections, create postards, and craft paper specimens for the curio corner. Shop local handmade goods and artist retail, with apparel, stickers, photography prints, and more.

Free and open to the public.
All are welcome, family friendly.
