Field Guide for Accidents

a night of poetry with Albert Abonado and friends

Saturday April 12, 7pm

We are thrilled to host our buddy Al and friends for a night of poetry, music, and connection. Bring a pal and come steep in some beautiful sounds and sentences in celebration of his newest published book of poetry, Field Guide for Accidents

This is a free event, and the last opportunity to visit our latest gallery show, Nourishment from the Underground, before it closes!

Gallery Hours Extended through April 12!
Tuesdays 2pm-6pm

Saturdays & Sundays 12pm-5pm

Nourishment from the Underground is a multi-media exhibit of over 30 artists, from Rochester to Berlin.

The show is inspired by natural mutual aid networks like forest mycelia, and dedicated to the unseen networks that sustain life. We want this community driven collection to honor (and interrogate) the often-unaccounted-for ways we nourish ourselves and each other. We've invited artists of all processes and disciplines to help us explore how we're all connected, for better or for worse, in this chaotic beautiful world.

We were blown away at the number of submissions we received, and are thrilled to be inviting over 30 different artists and pieces into the gallery.

Just as mycelia weave invisible networks underground, passing data and nutrients back and forth through the soil, our practices and relationships connect us to the world and keep us alive. We asked artists to share their 'underground' processes and inspiration, whether it comes from natural systems, collective action, personal reflections, or anywhere else.

Visit the gallery during February and March to view how our community sees art  in a cycle of nourishment, renewal, and  mutual exchange.

The patreon is a place for people who want to engage with Hinterland and its team more directly--whether it be through the blog, handmade art, invites to special events, or even, like, photo moodboards and playlists. Follow along for in-process creation & observations from the art house, encouraging words during challenging times, and connection to art and nice humans who make it. Content will be kaleidoscopic, varying greatly depending on who's making it. We're also gonna do, like, recipes and history and whatever else we feel like.

Should be sick.
